Controling the DS1615 component

Many models of temperature recorders, especially in cold chain control and agroalimentary, contain the thermical data acquisition core of the DS1615 component by Dallas Semiconductor / Maxim.
You can test your temperature logger on LogGate : the "plug and play" function of the software will recognize the device and inform you whether it is compliant with the LogGate Suite standard.
It is nevertheless better to contact the distributor of your logger in order to know if it is compatible with LogGate Suite.
Please note: When a device is "LogGate compliant", it contains a particular identification. These loggers won't be treated like generic DS1615-based devices, they will be presented with their manufacturer and distributor labels, and will benefit from adapted and extended functionalities and technical support by the manufacturer and/or distributor.

DS1615 configuration

The DS1615-based devices are automatically identified like all LogGate compliant devices. In LogGate's control panel, launch the Parameters, Read and Stop commands. The Parameters command will bring you to the parameter panel below:

DS1615 advanced parameters

The advanced parameter commands allow you to modify the user memory and other options. As a safety measure, contact the manufacturer of your device in order to know if your model doesn't use these parameters for special purposes.

These commands are also very useful for the electronic developers who study the DS1615 components.

User license for LogGate's DS1615 Module

There are two user licenses for the DS1615 Module:

• The Standard license, that allows you to modify the standard parameters of your device.

• The Developer license contains the functionalities of the Standard license, plus the access to the advanced parameters.

For 60 days from the installation of LogGate Suite, you can try the functionalities of these licenses. After this trial period, if you don't purchase a user license, the DS1615 Module will be limited to reading out, stopping, and starting the device without the possibility of changing the parameters.
